Sagan Tosu confirm more COVID-19 infections

Following the announcement of manager Kim Myung-hwi being hit with
COVID-19 on 11 August, Sagan Tosu reported on the 12th another nine new cases.

The nine infections consists of six players and three first team staff members. An online press conference held at 4 p.m. revealed that of the nine, two had tested positives while the other seven were high possibilities. The number of COVID-19 cases at the J1 club currently stands at 10.

“The first team will refrain from activities until the 25th while the infection subsides,” Sagan chairman Minoru Takehara said. “We will continue to work calmly and will do a thorough clarification of the situation.”

He added that the identities of the infected will not be disclosed.
