Bremen & Osako lose again in league return

Werder Bremen fell to a 1-4 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on matchday 26 of the Bundesliga on 18 May.

Kai Havertz struck a brace for a 2-1 lead before the interval and two more goals in the second half sealed the comprehensive victory for the away team. Bremen sent on Yuya Osako with five minutes remaining, but the forward did not make a difference to the final scoreline.

With nine league games to go, Bremen remain in second last position with a season tally of 4 wins, 6 draws and 15 losses.

The next round of matches will see Bremen play away at Freiburg on 23 May. Eintracht Frankfurt, along with Makoto Hasebe and Daichi Kamada, face a difficult trip to play league leader Bayern Munich on the same day.
