Hearts & Meshino relegated

Celtic were crowned champions for the 2019/20 season following announcement to end the Scottish Premiership campaign. Conversely, Heart of Midlothian, where Ryotaro Meshino is on loan, were relegated.

The Scottish Professional Football League reached the decision after a discussion with all 12 clubs on 18 May. The final standing was determined by points won against number of matches played before the league was suspended on 13 March 2020. As a result, Celtic emerged at the top, winning their ninth successive title and the club’s 51st.

On the other end of the league, wooden spoonist Hearts were demoted to the Scottish Championship. Meshino had joined the Edinburgh side on loan early this season following his transfer to Manchester City.
