Gamba Osaka fell visiting Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo for their third straight win.
Douglas fired Consadole in front in the 9th minute, converting a pass from Yoshiaki Komai for his second consecutive strike. Gamba responded in kind through Yosuke Ideguchi a short seven minutes later. Both teams continued their daring approach for the rest of the match.
The deadlock was eventually settled in the second half. Within one minute of his introduction, Patric met a free kick to head in his fifth goal of the season and delivered the home win. Gamba, now unbeaten in 10 league games under Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, moved back to second in the standing.
