Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo achieved their first clean sheet in seven games in their 1-0 triumph over Kashima Antlers.
With four minutes to go before half time, Yoshiaki Komai connected with a low cross from Akito Fukumori to score his third goal of the season. Antlers, in a bid to register their third straight win, had numerous opportunities to draw level in the second half but left their scoring boots at home.
The result sees Consadole record the club’s first ever double over Antlers in one season, and helps 63-year-old Mihailo Petrovic move to within one win from becoming the first foreign manager to reach 200 J1 victories.
