Genki Haraguchi managed a fourth straight start and third assist of the season, but ultimately fell with Hannover in their 1-3 defeat to SV Sandhausen.
After a goalless opening half, Sandhausen went ahead with two goals in the space of five minutes. Hannover responded immediately in the 58th minute, Haraguchi setting up John Guidetti to halve the scoreline. The away team continued to chase the game, but fell further behind in the 82nd minute.
Hannover, with six league games remaining this season, host Dynamo Dresden next on 3 June.
