Wataru Endo recorded his first goal of the season in Stuttgart’s 3-2 comeback win over Hamburger SV on matchday 28 of the German second division.
Coming into the game third in the league and one point behind their opponent, Stuttgart were two goals down at half time. Two minutes upon resumption, Endo, making his 15th consecutive start, rose highest to head in from a free kick to halve the deficit. The home side managed to draw level from the penalty spot in the 60th minute, and in injury time, struck the dramatic match winner.
The three points allowed Stuttgart to overtake Hamburger and claimed the second position, the all-important second automatic promotion spot.
Stuttgart will travel to play bottom side Dynamo Dresden next on 31 May.
