Hasebe renews contract with Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement with Makoto Hasebe for one-year contract extension until end of 2020/21 season, the Bundesliga club announced on 22 May.

“I want to devote my all to the team while clinging onto every moment,” the former Japan international wrote on his Instagram.

Hasebe’s overseas career began at Wolfsburg when he joined from Urawa Red Diamonds in January 2008. He went on to play for FC Nurnberg briefly, before docking at Frankfurt in the summer of 2014. Next season will mark the veteran’s 14th campaign in Germany. The 36-year-old has recorded 305 Bundesliga appearances to date, the highest for a Japanese footballer.
