Haraguchi strikes in Hannover win

Genki Haraguchi recorded his fifth goal of the season as Hannover came away with a 4-2 win over Osnabruck in matchday 27 of the German second division.

Hannover resumed football action one week later than the rest of the league due to their match postponement with Dynamo Dresden after two of their players tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Haraguchi shuffled through various positions in the game, starting on the left wing before being switched to an anchor role and then into an advanced midfield position. In the 74th minute, with the score 2-1 to Osnabruck, the 29-year-old broke free and was brought down for a spot kick. Marvin Ducksch converted to draw level and swung the match around with his second five minutes later. And in the 86th minute, Haraguchi struck a grounder from distance to wrap up the match.

In another match, Ryo Miyaichi participated in St. Pauli’s heavy 0-4 defeat at Darmstadt.
