Urawa Red Diamonds beat Thai side Buriram United in round 5 of the AFC Champions League, and moved into second spot in the group.
Two first half goals were enough for Urawa Reds to secure victory and allowed them to climb above Beijing Guoan, who suffered a 0 – 1 defeat to Jeonbuk FC in a later kickoff. The J1 side will host Beijing Guoan in the final group stage match on 21 May. A draw will ensure their advancement to the last 16.
