Shinji Okazaki scores debut goal in Huesca win

Huesca forward Shinji Okazaki’s match winning performance against Girona on matchday 8 earned him the highest rating from the Spanish media.

In the 43rd minute of the game, Okazaki controlled a nod down from a teammate and with his back to goal, swung a half-volley that saw the ball dipped into the back of the Girona net. His opening goal in Spain ensured a 1-0 win.

Newspaper AS awarded the 33-year-old the highest rating of 3 and wrote, “Okazaki’s acrobatic shot decided the titanic match,” while Sport Aragon praised the forward’s goal, “A piece of Japanese artwork opened the game.”

The win moved Huesca up to 3rd in the league. They play second place Cadiz next on 2 October.
